Question
Hello there. I have a 1999 chevy cavalier 2.2 4 cyl 108, 304 miles. I was driving home one night and heard a rattling type noise coming from right side of car, and then a few miles later, it just died and has not started back up since. I checked for spark and fuel and they are both there. Prior to it dying the temp was fine and lights were all ok. Starter is fine too.I have pretty new battery and have recently had water pump changed out by a mechanic. It has regular oil changes also. Last summer the valve gasket was leaking and fixed. The alternator is also not very old. I was told to do a compression test and the readings were 120 for first three and 135 for last one. any help appreciated. Thanks

Answer
Hi Ryan, have you checked the fuel pressure, it may be too low. As for the rattling, maybe the computer has come loose and caused a wire to break  causing it to not start(just guessing), The computer is in front of the tire on the right side. You have to remove the plastic in front of the tire to see it, I hope this helps, if you need more info let me know. Regards, Keith.
