i drove my car up the canyon on tuesday, and it quit everynow and then, i would just resartit and go on until it quit again.  Then i tried diving it up there thursday and it quit and wouldn't start again, i replaced the fuel filter and it didn't start i was wondering if it could be the fuel pump?  it turns over just fine but it won't start.  I really don't think that it was overheated. any suggestions

It could be the fuel pump or it could be an ignition problem. You need to check to see if you are getting any spark to the plugs first. If that is OK then check for a fuel problem.
If you need any help on testing the ignition, jsut ask and I can help you but you need to tell me what engine you have and what year the car is and if it is carburated or fuel injected.
