Chevrolet/coolant leakage

Question
I have a 1992 Berreta GT, not in the greatest condition, but it gets me to work and back.  Yesterday I parked it and when I came back to the car about 15 minutes later, I noticed a large puddle of coolant under the car.  Started it back up, and the coolant was flowing steadily from underneath, near the back of the engine.  I looked around and couln't seen any hose leaks and actually saw no leakage around the radiator, ect.  I had to drive the car home and by the time I got home it seemed that almost of the coolant had been lost, I was leaving a trail behind me.  Someone told me it could be the water pump.  I have had no screeching.  This was just out of the blue.  I would appreciate any suggestions or information you could offer.  Thank you.

Answer
Hi Cathy, you said it came from the back of the engine. The water pump is closer to the front. Its most likely to be a hose or the heater core. Fill it up again, start it up and you should be able to see where its coming from with that much flowing out. I hope this helps you, if you need more info let me know. Regards, Keith.
