remove the fuse will not hurt anything. the motor will breath a little easier.if run open all the time the comp. will make an adjustment to lean-richen after a short time. the DME was put there to do 2 things keep the drone out of interstate driving,70-80mph + or - AND let the exh.flow....i have the remote switch that opens and closes mine.even though the noise -DBs is only a little noisier it has that resonance that just happens to bug me...and only on that car.i know my gas mpg did improve 1- 1/2 mpg but as soon as you put your foot in it all is lost. no codes on my end.

Expertise

I can answer most questions on Chevrolet vehicles up to 1996, or before the ODBII.

Experience

I have been working on cars since I was eight, when I started handing my dad wrenches. I did my first complete rebuild at 14, and my first restoration at 16. When it comes to Chevy, if I don't know the answer off the top of my head, I can find it out fairly quickly. (My entire family is a bunch of gear heads.)

Education/Credentials
4 year machinist degree, with a 2 year mechanical drafting.
