i changed the pligs, looked at all the vacum line there fine theres no cap or rotor thats my problem theres a modual and coil under the top cover,i think it might be the coil or modual but want to be sure,and 3days befor it started to misfire the batery was dead,what else do u think it could

i have a 1988 pontiac grand am se with a quad 4 2.3l i was driving and out of no were it started miss fireing shaking and lost power by that i meen it wouldn't drive,i did a tune up 2 mounth ago, ichecked the plugs there fine i looked at the modgual for cracks and saw none,when i put it in drive it shakes like a tank and sounds like a bike but goes no were,is there any chance it could be a problem with a rocker or a valve or a injector cause the mod, is not cheap lol, can u help me out by telling me what to look for, iv done lots of work on car but iv never worked on a quad4 lol help

Hi well I would check the plugs, and the dist. cap,rotor, and see if any vacume lines came off, etc..

Hi I wonder when the battery went dead on you if it could have set something off in the computer, I would get a OBD 11 meter to see what codes pop up. it will tell you what is wrong.  but it might be the coil. and how is the inside of the cap.
