Question
Hi,

Occasionally my 99 Malibu, 3.1 v6, stalls several times when trying to start it. I am wondering if this could be dirty fuel injectors and if so should I use a can of injector cleaner.

Thank you,

Tom

Answer
Yes, it could be partially clogged injectors. You should take it to the dealer to have them cleaned. The bottles of injector cleaner that you can buy at the parts store wont clean them out. They are ok to help keep them from clogging but they aren't strong enough to clean them out after they do clog.
By the way, GM recommends that you clean the injectors once a year as basic maintenance.
