-----Question-----
Hello, i just bought a 94 z28 camaro,  and i have seen that when i first start it the oil pressure is at about half way, and once the engine is warmed up it goes down to a little lower than quarter of the way.  i am just wondering if that oil pressure is too low.  thank you
-----Answer-----
I would worry if it dipped to the 1/8th mark. Around about the 1/4 mark is normal. How many miles and what kind of oil are you using?

Answer
Thicker oil would just hide the problem. These cars loosen up a lot around 100K-120K miles. You should hook up a manual oil pressure guage to verify that the oil psi guage on the dash is accurate. When they go bad they start reading low.

Otherwise, your bearings have loosened up. Driving it normally, you'll still get another 50K-70K out of it. Race it and you'll spin a bearing in less than 20K.
