okay i also have 2000 dodge stratus and when i put in reverse it works well but when I put it in drive it will take a couple of seconds to take off in drive, and also it while i'm driving it want change gears unless it sit's up for a while then it will drive normal, also when I come to a stop while are my wheels will roll back? also it's jerks while i drive?

 Hea- ok it might just be that you are low on tranny fluid ATF  or you might need a new tranny  screen/filter ,or even a service on the tranny , when was the last time the fluid and screen/filter were changed,etc. as that can turn a simple tranny service job that has been over looked into a major and costly tranny replacement or rebuilding. I would check the fluid and if it is not a nice bright red in color I would have it serviced at a tranny shop this way they will tell you what might be wrong with it or adj. it if need be. and save yourself  a few thousand bucks.  OK...>><
