Question
I understand that newer than 99 is not your specialty, but here goes: 03 Malibu V6 3.1, wants to Turn Over, Car will not start even off of a jumpstart, all electrical components in the car work, horn, lights, radio, etc so I dont believe it is the battery or alternator (when I plug the jumper cables to my car and put the ends together they do spark).. Car does have gas in the tank, How can I tell if it is the Fuel Pump/Relay and where is the Relay located?

Any help is appreciated.

Answer
Hi Jon,
Get back near the rear of the car, and have someone turn the key to RUN.
If the fuel pump and relay are working, the pump will run in the tank for about two seconds, then shut off. You should be able to hear it run. Sounds like a humm, or buzz.
The relay is probably located in a thing that looks like a fuse block under the hood. It should even be marked on the cover of that block, probably referred to as a convenience center in the owners manual.
Check your fuses also, for fuel pump or inj.

I have been maintaining a fleet of approximately 55 light, medium and heavy vehicles for over 20 years. Most are 4X4 pickups and off road fire fighting trucks. Some medium duty trucks. Some military light trucks. I can answer most questions concerning 4X4 engine, drive line, suspension, electrical, and fuel, both diesel and gasoline. Ford, GM, and Dodge, old and new, but prefferably not newer than 99.
