Chevrolet Repair/1989 Celebrity Heat/Defrost Control

Question
I just had a radiator and thermostat replaced in my 4 cylinder Chevrolet Celebrity.  When I got it back, I  noticed that all air now comes out the dashboard vents (even if level is moved to heat/defrost, air comes from same position).  I do not think this was a problem before I took it in for repair.  Is it possible this new problem is related to the previous repair work?  What do you feel the new problem is?  As I do not drive car much, I could easily live with all air going to defrost position.  What do you feel is my best repair option?

Answer
Hello Gerald,
I believe all your vent and air doors are controlled by vacuum.
There is a vacuum reservoir under the hood, and several small hoses.
Weather there is one that got accidentally removed during the work or otherwise, that is what I would look for.
If a hose is off, it not only will keep the vacuum operated accessories from operating correctly, but will be a vacuum leak as far as the engine is concerned, and adversly effect the operation of it, as well as hurt your gas milage.
But looking near where the work was performed is where I would start.
