Question
I have a '91 Camaro RS. It has the 3.1 port injection v-6. It is my sons car. It was running fine last week. He parked it one day and went back later to go out and it wouldn't start. It will turn over but it will not start. I checked the fuel pump and it is working. I have changed the distributor cap and the rotor button and also the ignition module in the distributor. Still no fire. I am  now looking at the coil? Not sure which way to go from here. Some people have said the car has a "cam postion sensor" on it but it is not where they say it is on the motor. I have also heard about a "crank sensor switch" that I haven't found yet either. Also does this model of Camaro have a pick up coil in the distrbutor? Can you tell I don't work on cars to often? What should I do at this point? Any help or advice will be highly appreciated. Thanks and have a good day.

Danny

Answer
There is a crankshaft position sensor on the vehicle that neds to be tested as well as numerous ignition components.

There is no one component that seems to be more prone to failure than another.

You will need to have the electronic scanner put on the vehicle so as to read all of the information from and to the sensors.
