Question MY TRUCK HAS A 5.7 ENGINE,WHEN YOU GO TO PULL OFF
FROM A DEAD STAND STILL IT SOUNDS LIKE THE ENINE HAS A SKIP TO IT.AND WHEN YOU LEVEL OFF AT NORMAL 35 TO 55 MPH IT SOUNDS LIKE IT HAS A BAD SKIP.BUT IF YOU ACCELERATE FIRMLY ITS NOT AS BAD AND WHEN YOU RUN IT UP TO AROUND 60 TO 65 OR HIGHER IT SEEMS TO SMOOTH OUT.ITS THROTTLE BODY.I HAVE REPLCED PLUGS AND WIRES,THE DIRECTION IM THINKING NOW IS A PROBLEM WITH THE THROTTLE BODY OR POSSIBLY THE CAM THE TRUCK HAS ABOUT 130,000 MILES ON IT.ONE THING I NOTICED WAS THAT ONE OF THE PORTS IN THE THROTTLE BODY WAS BLACK AND THE OTHER SIDE WAS CLEAN,SO I RAN SOME INJECTOR CLEANER AND THE PORT CLEARED UP BUT THE SKIP IS STILL THERE.THANKS FOR YOUR TIME I HOPE I GAVE YOU ENOUGH DETAILS.
Answer How many fuel injectors does the engine have 2 or 8 ?. Pull the spark plugs and make sure they are all burning the same as being that they all look the same color at the electrode ends. If ANY are coated BLACK this would indicate a leaking fuel injector.
Did this come on suddenly or has it been getting worse over time ?.
