Hi, I have been thinking about swapping the computer from my 1998 Chevy astro 4.3L to a 1996 Chevy astro 4.3L, they are the same right down to the paint and all (i.e. engine, transmission, etc...), the thing is, I have a bad computer. So, my question is...will the computer WORK???

p.s. how do I check to see if they are the same part number??? i know it has something to do with a sticker thats on the side…

Hi david....any one with an interchange book could tell you...IE: wrecking yard... i know that they have to be the same controlls...IE; Fuel system, ign system gauge package...computer may be the same but have to change the prom....hope this helps...happy new year
