Question
Hi, I have a 1998 Chev. Malibu w/3.1L.  It has developed an antifreeze leak directly under what looks to be the thermostat housing, it does not appear to be leaking from the housing joint.  Originally when first spotted I pulled the temp sensor and teflon'd it, but still leaking.  Then it appeared it may be comming from the bottom manifold bolt below the temp sensor, it was very loose, tightened. Car is still leaking, am I right in assuming it is the intake gasket or is it the head gasket. ( antifreeze sits down directly under thermostat housing and drips onto trans housing.)  You insite would be greatly apreciated.  PS> what are the torque specs and sequence for manifolds.

Answer
When you reinstalled the bolt that was loose did you put some type of sealer from a tube such as silicone on the bolt ?.

As to the sequence and torque specs, I would have to e-mail you pictures and this website is NOT mine and they do not allow pictures.
