Chevrolet Repair/1999 Cavalier Z24 Brakes

Question
Hi Mark,

I am about to begin a re-pad adventure on my Z24 brakes. This car is about a year and a half new to me so I don't know the history.

Not sure if I will need to turn the rotors but if I do I would like to know what the minimum thickness is for them to be turnable.

Also, the job looks pretty straight forward, but if there are any hints and tricks that you know about I would appreciate any advice at all.

Thanks for the help...Randy

Answer
Hi Randy, This is a somewhat simple job. I would buy new rotors and ceramic pads. You can buy rotors at autozone for $15. These rotors will work great or you can spend $26 for a different brand. For the cost this is the best way to do the job.
