Question
I just had the intake gasket set, water pump and fuel regulator replaced last month. I replaced the fuel pump about 4 or 5 years ago. Today it cut off on me going down the road. It tries to crank but won't, sometimes it will but cuts off before I can put it in drive. When it does crank for a second, nothing happens when i push the gas or either it is cutting off before i push it. I thought maybe i ran out of gas, but put some in (2 gas cans) and car shows 1/4 of a tank but still won't start. Any ideas?

Answer
Hi Kathy... check for fuel pressure...you should be able to here the pump run...it should come on for 3 seconds when you turn on the key...if not check the relay and fuse. if relay is working and pump does not run check for an open in the wires to the pump... if you have power at the pump for the 3 seconds and still does not run change the pump...hope this helps...happy new year
