Question
i have a 2000 s-10 blazer with automatic electronic 4wd.i cant get the 2 and 4wd drive buttons to function. it only lights the auto 4wd button intermittantly.nothing happens when i press any other buttons.the service 4wd light came on a few times in the past any ideas would help.all fuses were o.k., and all harness were checked to be sure their plugged in.

Answer
Hi Chris, The most common thing to go bad on this system is the encoder motor. This is the part that moves the transfer case in and out of gear or 4 wheel. The parts for this are not cheap so I would take it to a dealer for repair. You don't want to make a bad guess and have to buy parts you don't need.
