Question
I have a '93 Chevy 2500 pickup - running down the road the engine just shuts down on me, I  sit by the side of the road and it will start after a few minutes of waiting. It won't start some days.. it sat 3 days and then started right up, but runs for only about 45 seconds then shuts down again. The starter & fuel pump are working, I can smell the fuel and hear the pump & starter. Any ideas?

Answer
Hi Mike.... check the cap rotor and coil....coil could be breaking down when it gets hot...i have seen those caps do that as well...if they are ok... check the fuel pump relay....see if it qiuts when it gets hot...if thats ok...do the same for the pump...i have seen pumps get hot and quit, usually when tank is low on fuel...fuel helps keep them cool so once below the fuel level they heat up and quit...hope this helps
