Question
my grandfather has a 1993 Chevy silverado 1 ton, 4x4. his four wheel drive no longer engages. i went and bought a transfer case switch to give that a try, but i cannot find where the original switch is located. Can you help me out? thank you for your time.

Answer
Hi jack.... there is a couple of differant places. usually the vacum solonids are under the hood on the passanger fender, the vacum pot to engauge the front axel is usually under the battery and there is a vacum tree on top of the transfer case...if you call your local dealer with the vin # they can give you a diagram of where they all are on your truck, we cannot send pics over this link and depending on 4x4 system and engine they can be moved around in differant models, so you vin # should get you the right digrams for your truck...hope this helps
