Question
I have a 77 chevy g20 with a 350, the rear main seal is bad, leaks oil when at the proper levels, stops when a quart low...how does one replace the rear seal...I read it is possiable to do it by removing the drive shaft...without dropping the tranny...is this true...help...

Answer
Hi Angus... which seal do you mean...the rear main in the engine or the rear seal in the tranny....if you mean the engine...you have to pull trans, flywheel and oil pan to get at rear main...if you maean the rear seal in the trans you just have to pull driveshaft...hope this helps
