Question
HI Robert,
I have a 1993 chevy silverado 4X4 5 speed. it is difficult to shift gears. I recently changed the pressure plate, clutch disc due to the same problem, but the problem has returned. It makes a growling sound while idling.

Answer
Hi John, did you change the release bearing when you did the clutch...does the noise go away when you put a little pressure on the clutch pedal...not being able to shift is usually a sign that the clutch is not disengauging enough. which could mean that you have air in the clutch slave cyl/hyd system or clutch is wore out or release brg is wore... hyd clutch systems are self adjusting so if it is not travelling enough to release the clutch it will be hard to shift...hope this helps
