Question
I bought a theft recovery 1998 Chevy Crew cab. The stearing column is tore up. I have 5 wires that go to the security system, three have some kind of resister on them. I bought the truck for parts. How can I bypass the security system and find out if the motor is good. The motor turns over but no fire or fuel.
Thank you,
Brent Schatz

Answer
Hi Brent....Do you know if it's passlock 1 or 2 system... if it is passlock 2, the one with the chip in the key, the easiest way would be to put in used wiring and lock cyl from the lock cyl down to the switch on the coloum. if passlock 1... just go to the switch follow the rod down the back of the coloum and remove the rod from switch or cut it above the switch then you can push rod down to get truck to start.... hope this helps... merry christmas
