have a 1998 k3500 7.4 dies when slowing down from hwy speeds not all the time, also when i put it in reverse, always starts right up what should i look for?

Hi Mike... Check the air intake and see if it is dirty, plugged air filter. you can clean with a good air intake cleaner...follow intrructions on the can...also check for dirty fuel filter and fuel pressure...low pressure will also cause that problem. also when was last tune up... those years were noted for problems in the dist cap. check it for cracks... hope this helps
