Question
recently purchased car...86 chevy camaro with 305 tpi auto trans...service engine soon light on...code 34 stored in ecm...replaced maf and cleared code..code reset with in 10 seconds after start-up...checked power at maf supply left side on firewall...wire harness separated and wires stripped..appears someone attempted to resolve this issue prior to my buying this car.
maf sensor I purchased had instructions telling installer to check for an up-dated prom if code returned after installing new maf.
any help greatly appreciated.

Answer
Hi David... install scan tool and see if it is up to date prom....if not remove computer and take cover off. prom is under that cover. new prom comes with the tool to remove and install proms...use that tool.. do not attempt to remove or install prom any other way as it will damage slot prom sits in...hope this helps
