Question
i need to know how to verify whether or not my 1987 buick century crank-cam has jumped time. can i check this without disassembling the motor and how do i check it? it has a 2.5 liter engine.

Answer
Hi MacKenzie... put number one cyl up to TDC. pull dist cap and see if rotor is pointing to the wire that goes to number one cyl. if it doesn't it has jumped time... hope this helps

is it 1987 or 1997.... you said 87.

If it is really 1997 then you will need to bring up to tdc and remove front timing cover and see if crank and cam marks line up....
