Question
how do you get the brake drum off after you take the axle off on a 1978chey c10pickup

Answer
Hi Demetrius... usually the drum comes off first....if you have pulled the axel and drum is still on it must be siezed on the hub...unless you are working on a 3/4 or 1 ton where axel is bolted on from the outside... C 10 is only half ton and drum should slide on over wheel studs... if it really is 3/4 or 1 ton then after you remove the axel there is a lock nut and keeper. you need to remove the keeper and then un do the outter nut remove the lock plate then remove the inner nut remove the bearing then drum will slide off. remember to change the inner seal before reassembly... hope this helps
