Chevrolet Repair/strange noise

Question
Recently my 2003 chevy taho has started making a strange clicking/whirring noise when I accelerate. It seems to be coming from the engine compartment. If I speed up real real slow and then stay at a steady speed I am fine. When I have to come to a stop or slow down, I have to very gradually increase speed to get going again, if I just push on the gas and go it makes that noise! What could be causing this?

Answer
Hi Amber... could be all kinds of things, bad u joints, something caught in the brakes and or backing plate touching rotors, something caught in tire tread, wheel bearings, something in rad fan, bad engine belt and or the tensioner. if you can't see it i would take it to a shop you trust and have them look... most places will check out your truck for free...hope this helps
