WHY DOES MY BRAKE AND THE ABS LIGHT TURN ON ALL THE TIME ON MY 2001 CHEVY SURBURBAN 5.3?

Hi Mike.... ABS light should come on when you start the truck and stay on for around 5 sec. if it stays on all the time then you need to service the ABS system. I believe GM had a recall on the wheel speed sensors on that truck. call your local dealer and have your VIN# he can check to see if there was and if it has ever been repaired on your truck. (if you bought it used)If not you will need to install a scan tool to get ABS codes from ABS computer, repair what the codes tell you is wrong and ABS system should work ok. Most ABS problems are in the wheel speed sensors... Hope this helps
