Question
I have a 2.2l 1997 Chevy Cavalier 4dr and I was wanting to know why my car doesn't go into a passing gear, (downshift to a lower gear)or if there is any type of system that is on the car. When I do pass it slowly picks up speed which is not could when cars are coming at you.

Answer
Hi Chris... does that car have a TV cable...it is a second cable that goes from the throttle link to the trans... if it does it should have a button on it close to the throttle linkage. push the button in and move the trhottle all the way open while holding button. that should move the cable in it's mount and adjust for the passing gear...if it is electric trans you will need a scan tool to check trans codes and correct as needed....hope this helps
