Hello I have a 1994 chevy Lumina van. The alternator shows a charge when it is running. When the van sits completely shut off, over night, the battery drains itself. I did install a new battery but the same thing occurred. What would be a possible cause for this problem or where might i look to correct this problem.  John

Hi John... check to see if things like glove box,trunk, under hood or int. lights staying on. make sure radio is going off, if you have delay  shut down on headlights make sure they are going off. check to see if regulator is sticking on in the alt.check for frayed wires at the fuse panel under hood or battery cables touching ground...hope this helps
