QUESTION: recently my 97 silverado decided it doesn't like to start after sitting over night.i replaced battery,spark plugs,rotor and cap thinking it wasn't getting enough spark.but still it continues to be a problem.the funny part is that i can hook jumper cables up and it will start right up?any info will help thanks.

ANSWER: could be fuel pump problem try turning the key on for about 3 seconds and of for about 3 seconds 4 or 5 times before cranking and see if that helps

QUESTION: So I tried that and that doesn't work either. I have to sit and bump the ignition until it starts?I really appreciate the advice

you are going to need to get a fuel pressure reading in the morning. I think what is happening is the valve in the fuel pump that holds pressure in the line is leaking over night and the fuel pump has to pump pressure back up to the engine before it will start. If that is the case you will need to replace the fuel pump(the valve is internal)
