Chevrolet Repair/96 S10 pick up fuel pump issue

Question
My '96 S10, 2.2l, pickup quit yesterday. It would restart, usually run rough, then die, especially when given gas. It barely made idle speed. It has 244,000 miles and I suspected the fuel pump. I unbolted the bed to get at it easily and have tried two pumps but neither one works. I get a weak light with a power check from one pin on each of the two plugs when the key is in the on position. Where is the fuel relay and does anyone have any other ideas on what the problem could be?

Answer
Hi Chis... Fuel pump relay should be on the firewall on the passanger side...if not there then in the power dist box....make sure your pumps have a really good ground... power at the pump should only last 3 seconds when cycling on the key...hope this helps
