Chevrolet Repair - 05 Cavalier flooding out

Expert: Robert Summers - 6/19/2009

Question
I have an 05 Cavalirthat keeps flooding out every time I gas it up. I neber fill the tank, have an after market cap, new fuel filter. It floods and is difficult to start every time I gas it up. Takes a while to start up - what do I do?

Answer
Hi Don... if it only does it when you gas up, i would be checking the vent on the tank...next time you fuel leave the gas cap off and see if it starts ok. or try holding the gas pedal too the floor when cranking as that shuts down the fuel injs.also check that fuel cap it may be defective...something is not allowing the tank to vent...hope this helps
