Question I have a 1999 Chevy K1500 Silverado 5.3 litre Z71. The 4x4 quit working recently. I hit the 4x4 button on the dash and it just blinks. It shifted into 4x4 once just the other day but when I switched by to 2 wheel drive and then back to 4x4, no such luck. No light on dash, running great, 89,000 miles. What do you suggest?
Answer Hi Vinson.... try replacing the 4x4 control module, it is up under the dash. easy way to test to see if it is working is to put test light on the power side of the plug at the shift solonid on the transfer case and front drive and switch to 4x4 and see if you have power there... if not module is bad....if you do and they dont shift check that solonids are not stuck/siezed, if they are free them up or replace...hope this helps
