Chevrolet Repair - Speedometer inop

Expert: Robert Summers - 6/11/2009

Question
I have a 2000 s10 blazer. The speedometer is inop & of course the odo. No codes and the scanner reads veh. speed. Cluster is good ( I replaced with known good Cluster) So I was going to purchase the speed sensor located in the t-case tail Shaft or is there more.....?

Answer
Hi Scott... you are correct, it more than likely is the sensor in the trans...but check the connection first...make sure it is not corroded and making good contact...sometimes we run into a problem in the circut between the sensor and the ecm, so you may want to check that as well...hope this helps
