Expert: Robert Summers - 7/14/2009

Question
I have a 1981 C-10 2wd ,305 quadrajet with automatic , I need spark gap ,timing , and any carb tricks ( some places were unplugged and adjusted on the last paid tune up to make it run better ) resources at IVYTECH Comunity College do not go back that far .

Hi Frank.... thats a ways back... if memory serves me correctly... timing should be 6 or 8 degrees before TDC... plug gap if it has r45ts plugs should be 45. and the carb is.. turn jets in till engine falters then out till it runs smooth then 1/4 turn... hope this helps
