Question
Why will the pitman arm only go about half way back on before stopping and not going any further? I had to use a puller to get it off. Its a 2 wheel drive V-8 automatic

Answer
Hi Heather. do you have it on properly... it has a line up tooth on the spline in the pitman arm and on the steering box shaft and the pitman arm does not seat all the way up. look at the shaft off the box and see how far on the old one went by the rust on the shaft, new one won't go any farther... hope this helps
