Question Why would the truck not start or start and stall when engine load reads 99% on scanner. When engine load reads 2% truck will start and run. Then when load switches to 99% truck immediately shuts down. Could it have something to do with the engine over rev protection?
Answer Hi William.. if you have a load reading before the truck is even running i would suggest that you have a pcm problem. maybe corroded connection because you state that the reading changes... reading with key on engine off should be 2% or less...check for any bad connections at all engine related componets, clean them then try running truck. pay close atten to power distrib box. as i usually find the most corroded connections there...if cleaning connections doesn't help try a known good pcm...or ign module.hope this helps
