Chevrolet Repair - Chev Blazer

Expert: Robert Summers - 9/1/2009

Question
I have a 2000 blazer the gas gage only goes to half a tank and stops, what part to I need to order.

Answer
Hi Tana... you may not need anything.... you will need to remove the gas tank and remove the sending unit, check to see if the float is stuck... look in the tank and see if there is anything blocking the float from moving...you would be surprised to know what we find in these tanks....check the float by plugging the unit back in and turn key on...move float up and down and see if gauge responds..if it does reinstall everything...if not you will need a new sending unit....hope this helps
