Question
Why does my 1997 chevy blazer start out in third and wont up or down shift unless i shift it manually?

Answer
Could be a number of problems. Is the check engine light on? It could be a torque converter problem or a shift solenoid problem. It also may have something to do with the internals of the transmission. If you have a check engine light on, have the codes read and let me know what they say.
