Question
throttle sticking on my truck, cherolet says can fix using a chemical ,do you know chemical and metod to fix my problem.

Answer
Hi Jim,
The chemical that I know of that could fix it is just Berrymans B12 Carb/PCV valve cleaner, or something like that.
If that is the chemical they are referring to, they are a chicken-**** place for not just doing it when they looked at it. You just spray it in, and watch it work.
If they didn't actually look at the throttle body, then they don't really know what is causing it to stick, so watch out!!....They might get it in there, and then it turn out to "NEED" something expensive, like a new throttle body, etc.
Surely you have a friend that works a little on their own vehicle that can remove the air filter and spray that throttle plate down.
You can do it yourself in just a few minutes if that is all it is, and if not, the spray won't hurt it, and is only about $2.00 a can.
While there, just look at the cable and see if maybe that is sticking, or a spring missing or broken.
Spray the idle air control passage also, in case that valve is sticking, and causing a high idle.

I have been maintaining a fleet of approximately 55 light, medium and heavy vehicles for over 20 years. Most are 4X4 pickups and off road fire fighting trucks. Some medium duty trucks. Some military light trucks. I can answer most questions concerning 4X4 engine, drive line, suspension, electrical, and fuel, both diesel and gasoline. Ford, GM, and Dodge, old and new, but prefferably not newer than 99.
