Chevrolet Repair/Belt tensioning Bolt

Question
How do I get the belt off a 1995 beretta. I'm changing the alternator and need to losen the belt to get the alternator off.

Answer
Hi Pam...you don't say which engine you have... but look for the tensioner, it should have a square hole in it to allow either a 3/8 or 1/2 in drive ratchet, insert ratchet and pull in the direction that loosens the belt. remove the belt, make sure you note the routing of the belt. change the alt and reinstall....hope this helps
