Question
I have a 2000 chev malibu. The problem that I have is my theft system warning light was coming on and my car would not start until after 10 minutes when the light goes out.I took my car to a repair shop and they replace my key cylinder and ignition switch. The problem I am having now is when I am driving my car it will just cut off on like it has run out of gas and it want start back until about 10 minutes, no warning lights would come on.Sometime I would smell gasoline when I frist start it up in the morning could you please advisor my on what kind of problem I am having.

Answer
Hi Frank, the theft system will not make the engine stall out once it has started. I would look more at the fuel pump for your problem. This is a common problem. If you had a fuel pressure gage you could test for fuel pressure when it doesn't run.

Hope this helps
