Question
Dealer says I have rust in fuel system causing rough engine and check engine light. 2000 5.3liter Chevy truck.Says I need to replace complete system,pump,lines,fuel rail,injectors.$2000.Can it be opened up and flushed instead or maybe replace some parts and not others?
Hi David. yes you can flush...remove line at fuel rail. remove at sending unit take out fuel filter. blow out lines.install new filter.and reinstall. change filter often till fuel runs clean...use a good fuel inj cleaner for the next few tanks of fuel
