Chevrolet Repair/FI Cleaner - Techron

Question
Hi Robert -

You mentioned in another response that Techron FI cleaner is the only GM-approved cleaner for Chevy FI.  I have an '86 Corvette that I suspect has a dirty injector (or two).  Is the Techron cleaner safe for use for my car?  There are so many sources of information on-line regarding FI cleaning solvents, it seems impossible to know which are correct.  One such review indicated that the Techron cleaner will deteriorate the nylon sock filter in the fuel tank.  Your thoughts?  Thanks,  Jack

Answer
Hi jack, any Fi cleaner that has lubercant, should be fine. if you are worried about putting any in find a shop that has a FI back flushing system. or replace the inj with new ones. I try not to back any product but i personally use Lucas products and like the results.... hope this helps
