Chevrolet Repair/No Fuel

Question
I'm not getting any fuel into the throttle body of my 89 chevy truck. 305   Was wondering if there is a fuse or could be a bad ground. Wondering where to start before replacing the fuel filter. Also i'm a mechanical moron so if you could make it as simple as possible that would be great. Thanks

Answer
Hi Phil... there should be a fuse in the fuse panel for the fuel pump...however if the fuse is blown it is telling you that you have another problem. if fuse is ok check the fuel pump relay, your owners manual will tell you the location. if relay is ok, there is a fuel pump bypass wire under the hood on the drivers side usuall right around the brake booster, it will be a single wire with a female plug on it. put 12 volts to it , if pump runs you have a problem in the fuel pump circut. if it doesn't it is likely a bad pump.. hope this helps
