Chevrolet Repair/Fuel Pump problem

Question
Assusimg that my fuel pump did not go out again, (I just recently replaced it) and the relay fuse also being new, what are the most likely causes for the pump not to even come on? It's a '99 Suburban. Thanks, from the mom with the six-pack(boys).

Answer
Hi Meredith... never assume that a new part is good... if you turn on the key pump should come on for 3 seconds if it doesn't then check the fuse and the relay, if all are good check the oil pressure sending unit as it also controls the fuel pump circut. if the relay is out the oil pressure sending unit can also turn on the pump once it reaches a set oil pressure while cranking. if not any of these check the wiring and see if you have power at the pump.  hope this helps
