Question
I have a chevy corsica 3.1L.  Just yesterday I was accelerating and the car began to sputter.  I do not know what would cause this when the car is idle it runs regular do you have any idea of what this might be

Answer
Hello Travonte,
If the plugs and all are in good shape, I would connect a fuel pressure tester, and go for a ride.
If the filter is dirty, or the pump is wearing out, the pressure will drop, and that would cause it.
If the pressure remains up in the correct range, then dirty injectors, or a spark problem may be what you have.

I have been maintaining a fleet of approximately 55 light, medium and heavy vehicles for over 20 years. Most are 4X4 pickups and off road fire fighting trucks. Some medium duty trucks. Some military light trucks. I can answer most questions concerning 4X4 engine, drive line, suspension, electrical, and fuel, both diesel and gasoline. Ford, GM, and Dodge, old and new, but prefferably not newer than 99.
