Question
How do I go about replacing a rear axel bearing on my '97 Monte carlo, I can do mechanic work on older models(85 down), is this difficult?  does it require special tools?

Answer
Hi dave... depends on what rear end it has. front loader or rear pot.... if it has a rear cover on it... pull the cover pull the axel locking pin bolt then the pin...push axel in a little pull out axel c clip then remove the axel.. you can then remove the bearing.a slide hammer with a c type end will make it easier to remove...hope this helps
