Chevrolet Repair/Temperature gauge

Question
My 95 chevy Blazer temperature gauge goes to the red for about 30 sec. & then back to normal after I drive about 2mi. I took it to the repair shop, they replaced the radiator & thermostat but it didn't help.

Answer
Hi Mark... does the truck get hot or is it just a voltage spike. check the temp sensor, see if the connection is good and clean. pressure test the cooling system, if it climbs to pressure really fast you could have head gasket problem. if not check to see if the water pump is circulating the coolant good when up to temp.. if all is ok i would change the temp sensor. hope this helps...merry christmas
